I have real oily hair. Any solutions?

erm i have really oily hair (and skin). I look better when i let down my fringe however it gets oily in no time so it looks really flat and ugly. can anyone recommand any shampoo or hair care products that can keep my hair oil-free?

I have real oily hair. Any solutions?

There are special shampoos for oily hair and other treatments such as hair spa. However the best solution would be to ask your hairdresser. Keep in mind that bad diet has negative effects on your hair.

I have real oily hair. Any solutions?

wash it every day

or other day

I have real oily hair. Any solutions?

they have special shampoo and conditioner for oily hair. Herbal Essence, Suave, Garnier have good products for that... also a daily clarifying shampoo helps also.

I have real oily hair. Any solutions?

use A SHAMPOO WITH NON IRRITATING INGREDIENTS!

I have real oily hair. Any solutions?

OMG!! I HAVE THE SAME PROB. OK well heres what you do. Once a week mix 1/2 cup leamon juice and 1/2 cup of water pour it all over you r head and wrap ur hair in a warm towel for 10 mins then shampoo ur hair and rinse it out. it removes all the excess oil with out overdrying the hair. Hope this helps!

I have real oily hair. Any solutions?

Well hunny you should take at least take a shower everyday, to keep it from oilyness, my sister and my dad has that and they take a shower everyday. Thats the only solution.

I have real oily hair. Any solutions?

Any type of shampoo will do, just be sure to wash next to the scalp!

I have real oily hair. Any solutions?

I recommend trying different shampoos for oily hair until you find the one that suits you best. Make sure that you use a light conditioner afterwards on the ends of your hair. I would start with Neutragena. As for hair care products, mousse may be your best choice for styling. If I were you, I'd find a good salon and explain your situation to the stylist to see what hairstyle and products he/she thinks would work best for you.

There may be something that you're eating or not eating that is contributing to your oily skin and hair. I would try cutting out a certain type of food for a week and see if that doesn't improve your skin. For instance cut out dairy products for a week and if that doesn't help then try red meat or wheat products. It's worth a shot and you might get lucky and find something that helps. Also make sure that you're getting plenty of water every day.

As an aside, you'll be a lot less prone to wrinkles when you're older if that's any consolation.

I have real oily hair. Any solutions?

a very good shampoo of excessive oily hair is paul mitchell's tea tree shampoo...or aveda's rosemary mint shampoo and conditioner....avoid conditioners especially heavy ones....good luck

Which shampoo/conditioner is best for my hair?

I have somewhat medium length thin, straight hair, with side bangs. No matter what shampoo/conditioner I use, my hair always ends up curly, frizzy, and puffy when it dries. I've tried blow-drying and straightening, but it's starting to take a toll on the health of my hair. Is there a line of hair care products that can prevent the whole "drying into a big puffy ball" thing, that DOESN'T require me to blow-dry every single day? Straightening I'm okay with. Thanks for your help. =]

Which shampoo/conditioner is best for my hair?

The best products to use for your hair is the Matrix line. There is sleek (orange bottles) to help if you want to straighten your hair and there also curly (green bottles) that will help with the natural curly hair. Also try a deep conditioner twice a week. Joico k-pak is the best and will put the health back into your hair.

Which shampoo/conditioner is best for my hair?

Bed head, Or aussie

Which shampoo/conditioner is best for my hair?

I have the same problem use sunsilk for straightening in the shower. Then use Revlon smoothdown in a brown/redish bottle while hair is still wet... GORGEOUS RESULTS!!!!!!

I luv that revlon stuff

Which shampoo/conditioner is best for my hair?

Use some from bath and body works for thin hair. It totally makes it look great. TRUST ME!

Which shampoo/conditioner is best for my hair?

I know exactly what you mean! I have the very same problem! I only use salon products (I really like the Wella Straightening Color Shampoo and Conditioner, plus their straightening gel (I mix in some Biosilk to help with flyaways) I find works fairly well.

Which shampoo/conditioner is best for my hair?

use pantane shampoo and after washing your hair apply olive oil in your hair comb it out

Which shampoo/conditioner is best for my hair?

I used to have that problem a long time ago but myn is probably worse! I'd use Herbal Escences or Pantene Pro-V of any kind im not sure about Herbal Escences so its better to use Pantene, even the celebrity with the nicest hair used Pantene! Good Luck with your hair problem

P.S. if none of them work use TRESEME they have been used by professionals so im sure!

Which shampoo/conditioner is best for my hair?

I use Pantene Pro V and it works great on my hair. It does not make it poofy or curled at all.

Which shampoo/conditioner is best for my hair?

Go to the Body Shop. They have Olive oil shampoo which is great for your type of hair. Keep using both shampoo and conditioner for about 2-3 weeks and then you see the results. I had the same problem as yours and now I am happy with my shampoo.

Good luck!

Why is my hair breaking off at the roots?

I woke up this morning and found that right at the pinnacle of my scalp i had a chunk of broken off hair. Why is this happening? I haven't changed hair care products or medication or anything. Please explain before I go insane!!

Why is my hair breaking off at the roots?

call your doctor or hair cuttery. And do you have extensions? I know this leads to breaking off

Why is my hair breaking off at the roots?

YOUR OVER PROCESSING YOUR HAIR- COLORING, BLOWDRYING- JUST LET IT BE NATURAL FOR A WHILE AND IT WILL GET STRONGER-

Why is my hair breaking off at the roots?

it could be stress, or the detergent you wash you clothes with, it could even be your diet but go to a dermatologist and find out better safe than bold. Get better soon!

Why is my hair breaking off at the roots?

uhm yea that would basically be my worst nightmare!

Do you dye your hair? if you do, then stop...your hair is probably too burnt out and fried which is why it is breaking at the roots. You obviously are using something in your hair that its literally eating it away...

Why is my hair breaking off at the roots?

Sounds like over processing, try a product called Cholesterol at most beauty supply stores for a very nice price.

It puts nutrients back in your hair for strength.

nd no more processing for at least 6 months.

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

my hair is mid-length, straight but it tends to curl up at the ends . it's really dry only on the top layer. (does anyone noe why it curls out only at the bottom?)

my hair used to be really soft and silky until i started to layer it . i have tried all sorts of masks and treatments from different brands but none of them seem to be working. can someone please recommend me a good hair treatment that works effectively . i recently went for a haircut and am currently using nexxus hair care products(are they any good?)

can you guys/gals please gimme some advice , serious ans please

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

The top layer of my hair has always been like that too. (Drives me crazy.) Remember, that's where your hair is dried the most, exposed to the elements the most, brushed the most, touched the most, etc. Keep that in mind and be careful with it. One of the things I do is dry my hair upside-down so that the bottom layer gets dry without having to fry the top layer in the process. Nexus is very good. You might also want to try a protectant. I like Silk, by Biosilk. It protects and adds softness and shine. Best of luck!

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

switch over to using olive oil for you hair.Oil it daily with olive oil and watch the difference.

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

always try to eat alot of friuts and vegtabels and healty food...and try repairing shampoos( like dove)its good for unhealty hair..and try to put afood oil on it..

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

i have long hair, i seem to have found out that by spending the extra money at a good salon helps a lot. buying salon shampoo too, not Paul Mitchell or matrix, i mean good stuff like alterina, it cost more, but it doesn't strip your hair of natural oils and vitamins, where other shampoo's strip your hair of everything natural and put a waxy build up on it.

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

Fabulous hair (without outside styling help) indicates good health.. If you want to get strong, shiny and healthy hair, try chowing down foods rich in Vitamin B just like beans, nuts, bananas and oats. Don't just use any products, you should be first sure that it is good to your hair and what will it do to your hair..

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

hot oil is the best treatment you should be able to get it in any hairdressers

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

yuck...stop using nexxus. use redken protien shamp and cond. its in a blue bottle , orrrrr bedhead/tigi have a new line called S factor its sulfate free smells and works great, or paul brown ressurect

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

first of all, try to diagnose the problem. when you get your hair layered, do they use a razor, or traditional scissors? if it's a razor, ask them to stop using it and request them to point cut with scissors. razors affect different types of hair differently, and on many people cause excessive dryness and split ends. i personally dont use them on long hair.

i wouldn't recommend any shampoo with protein in it unless you use a lot of chemical treatments (perms, colors, relaxers, highlights) or your hair is brittle or breaking. overuse of protein can actually cause more damage than good, making your hair too strong, causing it to break. redken is actually a good choice though; but id go for the all soft line, or the color extend line if your hair is on the fine side (doesn't matter if you don't use color. color shampoos are just lighter versions of deep conditioning shampoos). biolage is also a popular brand, but i find it is on the heavy side, so it is not good for hair that is on the finer side either.

if your split ends are seriously bad and they are too far up for you to be able to handle getting them cut off just yet, do go ahead and buy redken's antisnap protein treatment and use it every other shampoo. it's a leave in conditioner. if you can't find that, tigi bedhead makes one called ego boost split end mender. use it the same way. wean yourself off of it as you see results.

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

I use the products by www.biolustreflorida.com. I treat my hair once a month with them. when you add what you spend on shampoo and leave-in conditioner etc, per month, its the same cost because you get the shampoo and everythign PLUS their awesome instant repair treatment. I love it, I dont go without!! Good Luck!

How can i get really healthy hair ? someone please help!?

Good healthy hair starts with good internal health. Have you ever noticed people that look really healthy have nice shiny full heads of hair? If I were you I would go into your local guru in wholistic medicine and see what natural supplement the can offer for robust hair growth. I閳ユ獫e had success with a product called Provillus also.

Are there any beauty/hair salons in fes that are of moderate price?

And can I buy african american/black hair care products in some or most of the stores?

May seem like a stupid question but, who cares?

Are there any beauty/hair salons in fes that are of moderate price?

Like sarah said, it may be hard to find the one you want in fez. But they do have those african american type relaxers that keep your hair straight for a couple of months even after washing, I got my hair relaxed in Fez last year. And almost all the salons are cheap in Morocco! It depends on what you get though...For a blow dry they can be 15-25 dirham..[thats how much it cost me and i have long hair] which is a couple dollars in America.[oh how I miss paying 2-3 dollars to get my hair straightened!] A cut is about the same. Good luck =]

Are there any beauty/hair salons in fes that are of moderate price?

In my opinion no salon in Morocco is expensive. For sure you can get some hair care done that may cost more than a simple cut but it won't break the bank.

You can for sure by products for black African hair in Marjane, some salons may have it too though in Fez it may be harder to find (where I live there is more black people than in Fez area).

Are there any beauty/hair salons in fes that are of moderate price?

You should consider taking your own products with you. I bought hair coloring while I was in Morocco and it was true to it's color which left my hair a bright red. The coloring products I buy in America are not so true to the color, meaning it depends on your hair color, this was not true with the color I bought there. I ended up having to buy another color and coloring my hair a 2nd time just to get it presentable. Some hair care products are more expensive in Morocco than here in America. As for salon prices, Sarah T is correct they are not expensive at all.

Are there any beauty/hair salons in fes that are of moderate price?

yes there is one i know of tht a friend of mine i talk to runs and he charges $5:00 in american money

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

My 14 month old son is mixed (hubby is black) and lately his hair seems to be getting very dry. I have two mixed step-children and thier hair leans more toward the white side, as does my son's. The problem is lately it's been getting very dry at the ends. When I try black hair care products on him they tend to be a little too heavy for his hair texture, and it winds up looking worse. His hair has more of a white texture, with curls. Any advice would be appreciated.

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

I am mixed and my hair is nothing like white or black people's hair. I use luster's pink oil moisterizer but, I use the light kind. It's not as heavy. I also can't wash my hair everyday but, I do wet it down everyday and pick it out and apply the pink oil. Then I just let it dry. It curls up and I'm on my way. It might take a while to figure out exactly what works for his hair but, you'll figure it out. And to those people telling you that you should have thought of this before you had a mixed child are ignorant. You never know what a mixed child's hair will be like until you have the child! And, how are you going to learn if you don't ask? That's why I see mixed kids with their hair lookin' all crazy because their mama's are afraid to ask anyone for fear of getting answers like that! Good luck!

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

no, people like Glorious don't know that not all biracial children are born with the usual. Some actually have hair that is like Caucasians, some have kinky hair so you just never now.

Folks also should know that Glorious didn't tell the truth, she's just mad that no one agrees. Report It

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

Why don't you use some gel or Lotion just to get the hair to lay down and add moisture to the ends.

Or just keep it cut short (close to the scalp)

if that doesn't due. . .go to a hairdresser that does ethnic hair (a brown person) and ASK. . .Good Luck

May I please add that if you are of another race and have children with a brown person. .. The hair can come out many different ways, including more towards the ethnic side.

So for people that have mixed children, please take them to a hairdresser that KNOWS how to do hair of this texture.

P.S. For those that gave me the thumbs down. . .may I add that I am the product of a mixed marriage . . .I was giving an honest and positively helpful opinion. .

It is and was only the Truth. . .

This is statement is for those of you that are probably Caucasian and have no clue. . .if the shoe fits, wear it!

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

I used the Vaseline hair tonic on my son, it worked really well, even for cradle cap.

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

How often are you washing his hair? Maybe you should only wash it every other time in the bath. Also, make sure you are using conditioner - Johnson's makes baby shampoo and conditioner. Maybe condition his hair every time you give him a bath but shampoo every other time.

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

friend of mine has mixed children she uses babyoil.or try a leave in conditioner.

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

have his ends trimmed, and use olive oil to moisturize,,,only a little, leave it on a few hours then wash it out. This works nicely for all hair textures. God Bless

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

try going to a black hair salon, they should be able to recommend you something for the baby

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

try both together with small amounts he is still a baby

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

try the light stuff or just lotion, regular lotion. my sister-in-law did this to her daughter and her hair is still healthy and thick today.

or of course, you can ask someone you know personally that has a mixed kid.

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

Try Nexxus Humectress Conditioner, work wonders. Its not oily just provides moisture. Put small amount in palm of hands and massage through hair...leave in. : )

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

Try Infusium 23.it's a spray . My hair has change over the last few yrs.I love it .

GOD BLESS

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

I have bought theis stuff called corn row magic (it was in a pump spray) a while ago for my (mixed) daughter, for the same reason, everyone gave sujestions but they were all to heavy feeling for her hair so I tried everything and found this works great on her and also makes her hair look like it is wet, and it not greasy either.

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

ask a afro hair salon for some advice on products because their are products out there for this hair texture

Some of these people are so f-ing rude. Just ignore them.

I'm a white dude with two half-black daughters. Their hair isn't washed everyday as this does dry it out. Also, they use a combination of things. I know for a fact that they use Luster's Pink Oil Moisturizer....its in my cabinet at home.

Hope I helped.

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

My son had a similar problem and the doctor said to use coconut oil type stuff. But he is a different mix so this might not apply.(hispanic and white)

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

my nephew is black %26amp; asian I use dove moisturizing shampoo %26amp; conditioner on both our heads and it works for him %26amp; me, plus for the dry hair try there smooth %26amp; soft anti-frizz creme I think it's called. well here is the link,

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

how can you do your husband's hair when he has dreadlocks.....do u mean u help maintain it.........and don't get mad at GLORYUS she is right.....u need to think about these things before u have biracial children.....do research........obviuosly he is too young to have heavy care products in his hair........ask around.....go to different black beauty hair product stores and see if u find something light that give results........or ask other people with biracial kids with hair similar to your baby's hair......GOODLUCK!!!!!!

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

Try hair serum or baby oil. Black hair products are a no no.

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

go to a doctor

Help? Mixed baby hair question.?

No offense, but this is stuff you should learn before you give birth to a biracial child.

edit: I got thumbs down for telling the truth? Look Im not racist or anything ( I have biracial cousins and I date white men). Im just telling you that you SHOULD learn stuff like this when you know you are having a biracial child. It better prepares you.. Its just like shopping for baby girl clothes when you know you are having a baby girl. DUH!

yeah get layers and den put rollers in them so they r bouncy buh lik when ur hair is out of dah rollers finger comb it itll look nice and good luck!

Help! i'm not sure how I should do my hair on the first day of school. Any ideas?

My suggestion is to get both angels and one or two layers. Then you can blow dry your hair with a brush tipped hair dryer. It shows of your hair's layers, and gives you shiny straight hair without damaging it as much as a straightener would!

Help! i'm not sure how I should do my hair on the first day of school. Any ideas?

Okay.

-scrunch it

-put in a cute headband

-take a small piece of hair, and tie a ribbon [or a few] in a bow around it

-curl it

-crimp random sections of hair and straighten the rest

-crimp the top half of your hair and straighten the bottom.

-french braid it.

-do a regular braid.

-straighten it

-make a very side part and take take a top layer of hair, and clip it back with a small clip

-do a quiff

-do a messy bun

-put your hair in a big clip

Help! i'm not sure how I should do my hair on the first day of school. Any ideas?

Help! i'm not sure how I should do my hair on the first day of school. Any ideas?

Well, I have about same length. I'm going to curl my if I'm allowed to. I think you should do the same but use a Robbin to tie it so it is an up do.

Help! i'm not sure how I should do my hair on the first day of school. Any ideas?

Just wear it the way you've been wearing it all summer, or the last school year. If you're comfortable with your hair (and what you're wearing, and how you act) then you'll look like the coolest person in the school.

Help! i'm not sure how I should do my hair on the first day of school. Any ideas?

Start a new trend - shave it all off and then you won't have to worry!

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

I have long, thick, black american indian hair (I'm white and sioux). I have tried many hair care products but they just don't work for me, and my hair grows really fast so if I cut it short I will need a haircut very often. Yet still, I was wondering if anyone thought I should get my hair changed to look more like young white guys ( with the real short, spiked, light hair like you see in magazines or on MTV). I want to know if this will make me more attractive to white girls.

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

"I want to know if this will make me more attractive to white girls."

Yeah, the shallow ones anyway. But then again, are those the ones you really want attracted to you? Why hide your indian heritage?? Be proud of it and show it off! I'd keep your hair the way it is and just be yourself. No use trying to be someone or something you aren't just to attract someone. It'd be too much upkeep later in life to try to keep that look up and such a shame to hide your true self. I say it's not worth it. Be you! And let you beautiful heritage show!

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

no you shouldnt change if the girls dont like you with out having you change your hair then they dont deserve you

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

idk but i might grow my hair out long cuz im indian and got olive skin, i know my mom like guys with long hair lol

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

Nope. I like uniqueness, whether it is in hairstyles, clothes or personality. You do not need to change yourself to look like some posers on MTV to be liked by "white girls". Just be who you are, and look like you want to look. I think your hair sounds cute ^_^

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

What makes a person appealing is simply being the true you!

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

you do not need to change for anyone

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

personaly i like guys with long hair its kind of sexy but i'm not picky so do what you want its your hair

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

Stick with the hair that you have, I mean you shouldn't have to change your appearance for someone to like you , but if you do, then that person is not right for you. If that person doesn't like you for who you are, find someone who will. Your life will be so much less complicated that way.

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

I think you should keep your hair the way it is. You shouldn't have to change who you are for any one

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

absolutely NOT... You be who you are... there are girl out there who will love your long hair... do not change for any woman.. because evenually you will go back to being yourself and then where would you be... be yourself....

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

Dude..I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. You don't have to go poseur just to make some "white girl" like you. My bf's hair is about shoulder-length (well, it was anyway..he's getting a hair cut) but anyway i wouldn't love him any less. The way your hair looks shouldn't determine whether or not a girl should like you. Personally, I would hate to be with somebody who only wants me for my looks. Just be you and when the right chick comes along, then you'll know. I wouldn't change a thing if i were you.

Girls, should I change my hair to be more attractive?

I don't see how hair will change you so much. I think that you should do what makes you happy. If you like short hair on yourself, then cut your hair and get it cut as often as it needs to be. But if you are only cutting your hair to be liked by white girls, then it is a waste of time and energy. One of these days someone will love everything about you including your hair.

i wouldn't recommend any shampoo with protein in it unless you use a lot of chemical treatments (perms, colors, relaxers, highlights) or your hair is brittle or breaking. overuse of protein can actually cause more damage than good, making your hair too strong, causing it to break. redken is actually a good choice though; but id go for the all soft line, or the color extend line if your hair is on the fine side (doesn't matter if you don't use color. color shampoos are just lighter versions of deep conditioning shampoos). biolage is also a popular brand, but i find it is on the heavy side, so it is not good for hair that is on the finer side either.

if your split ends are seriously bad and they are too far up for you to be able to handle getting them cut off just yet, do go ahead and buy redken's antisnap protein treatment and use it every other shampoo. it's a leave in conditioner. if you can't find that, tigi bedhead makes one called ego boost split end mender. use it the same way. wean yourself off of it as you see results.

Good Luck!

African American women, have any of you heard of Triplegro haircare products?

Hey African American women. I wanted to know if any of you have heard of Triplegro hair care products. If not, they have they're own website at Triplegro.com. Anyway, I wanted to know if it really works on short, brittle hair like mine before i wasted any money and bought their products. If you've never heard of them, will you notify me of any products that do?

African American women, have any of you heard of Triplegro haircare products?

Use Mane 'N Tail hair products. I have notice a lot of new growth. I message my scalp with their Carrot Oil Cream and wash my hair with their Shampoo and Condition and use their daily Hair Strengthener. I have notice a big difference, but the main thing you need to do is message your scalp at least twice a week with Triplegro and see what happens after 30 days.

I also checked the HOOD RAT SNEAKY "SNAKE" STEPH!!!

African American women, have any of you heard of Triplegro haircare products?

Ladies, thanks for all the suupport you all offered when that little girl left that racist comment. I really appreciate it! And to sneakysteph22 I just want to say the fact that you even "joked" about what you said shows that you are a very juvenile and ignorant person. Report It

African American women, have any of you heard of Triplegro haircare products?

the biosilk line works good... and i like soft and beautiful products nexus products smell good and work also.

African American women, have any of you heard of Triplegro haircare products?

i have never heard of that but i think its just another scam that they keep doing. but the #1 most effective hair growth pill is called provillus.

www.provillus.com

it was rated #1 so it might work.

African American women, have any of you heard of Triplegro haircare products?

I never heard of that...now miracle grow but no triplegro. Try proclaim i think its in a yellow %26amp; purple bottle it smells like candy alot of philly salons uses it, QP is good, that makes my hair feel very soft %26amp; silky- butter mango creme %26amp; feels like silk, will definately change that feeling to the texture. on all of these products i use creme, shine spray and the gel or molding balm..

African American women, have any of you heard of Triplegro haircare products?

Hey girl, I don't have an answer to your question, but I did look to see if there was info that I could benefit from and found that person (sneakysteph22's) comment...I just put that person in their place. Just thought I would let you know that not everyone is ignorant. Even if I wasn't half black, racism is not acceptable.

I feel sorry for people like that.

African American women, have any of you heard of Triplegro haircare products?

I wouldn't use anything that ends in gro.

African American women, have any of you heard of Triplegro haircare products?

I never heard of them

African American women, have any of you heard of Triplegro haircare products?

I have heard of triplegro and the only thing I use from them is the scarf I love how smoothe it keeps my hair. More than that I haven't heard anyone raving about them, but I everyone I know uses the scarf. The best products I have used though are Aveda, Nexxus, and Ojon but I really like Doogro's triple strenghth. The key though no matter what you use is matinance.

The products I hear (other Black)women talk about are

1 Perfect Results

2 Motions

3 Doogro

4 Mane%26amp;Tail

5 Paul Mitchell

The brands that I chose I love. Aveda and Ojon are expenssive but I feel are worth the splurge. Nexxus is number 2 to Aveda and are fair priced salon quality.

What is the difference between the woman's and men's hair ??

I'm a 15 years old boy .. n am having problems with taking care of my hair .. as u all know .. most of the hair care products are for womans .. so is there any difference between the woman's and men's hair ? can men use the woman hair care products ???

Thanks in advance *_^

What is the difference between the woman's and men's hair ??

yes men can, but they often feel embarassed when buying it..? :\ Men and women have the same hair, except men go bald lol.

What is the difference between the woman's and men's hair ??

It can be hormonal.

But i don't know if it has anything to do with males and females.

I have seen some men have fantastic quality hair, real beautiful long wavy hair, and i have seen some women have poor hair...

best is go to your shop/boots/ pharmacy and ask this question... they can give you some drops for hair... if your hair is poor, or some hair gell if you want it more stylish..

or tell the outside neighbour the beautiful girl to massage your hair and give a style! ha! sorry i'm not there

What is the difference between the woman's and men's hair ??

There isnt a lot out there for men, so men usually just use whatever's in their girlfriends shower or the wife, etc so its perfectly fine to use a "girl " shampoo. Its just crap you wash your hair with in a girly package lol, so dont be embarassed. But if you do, just try to pick one that has a fairly neutral scent, nothing too perfumey so you don't smell like a girl.

You should try Bed Head products there for guys and girls and there awesome.

What is the difference between the woman's and men's hair ??

I think there is no problem using woman's hair products, but there are some great product lines for men now. Like someone said, TG (bedhead) has some great styling products and so does Paul Mitchell that are designed for men. Almost every professional line nowadays will have a mens line. So take a look around, go into your nearby salon and ask a stylist what they think would be cool for your hair type. Most stylists are cool enough to take minute to help.

this is great for your hair!

How to get thick, curly hair straight?

herbal essence dangerously straight moose... works really really good! I love it and it smells good!

How to get thick, curly hair straight?

I agree-Paul Mitchell Super Skinny line is really good. The serum is a little oily, but if you're hair is super thick, it will help protect it.

How to get thick, curly hair straight?

Well first off it would be good if you got your hair thinned out it would make the process of straightening it quicker and easier. And the product i would suggest to straighten it out would be BED HEAD it is also pricy but it last long and a little goes a long way. it's worth it :) hope i helped.

How to get thick, curly hair straight?

Try these steps.

1. Before you go to bed, wash your hair with herbal essences pin straight.

2. Blow dry your hair and straighten most of it.

3. Put in stay in conditioner(it doesn't matter what brand it just makes it very shiny)

4.When you wake up, brush it and touch up on the straightening. make sure that when you straighten it put most of your hair on top of your head, straighten the bottom, and gradually keep letting more hair down. Good luck!

How to get thick, curly hair straight?

What ever brand of hair care products you use, make sure it is designed for curly hair (I love Garnier Fructis). After you wash your hair, put a few drops of hair serum in your hands and run through your hair. Dry your hair for just a few minutes with a blow dryer and run a round brush through your hair while you dry it. Now you are ready for your straightener. Use it on small (2 inch or less) sections of your hair. Don't let the iron stay in one spot too long or you'll risk burning your hair.

How to get thick, curly hair straight?

I have VERY thick curley hair!! I use "Fructis Sleek and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner"..That was helping my hair get straighter but, it still wasnt good enough for me..A couple weeks ago my mom bought me this "comb-like" deal to use. It worked great! I didnt think it would but it did! I got it at walmart for about 5 bucks. Its like a comb and you put it in front of your straightener it worked GREAT! I wish I could tell everyone about this!

Curl a guy's very straight hair, or make it wavy...?

I have really straight hair and I have actually tried the curling iron thing, the small one since my hair really isn't that long but in the end it kinda of just turns out poofy. I want to make it look natural in a way but I just wanted to know if there are any hair care products thar are worth buying to make my hair curly, or like a little curly, or atleast wavy.

Curl a guy's very straight hair, or make it wavy...?

I am a hairdresser. The only thing that will truly make straight hair curly is a perm. There isn't any other answer besides a curling iron. All the products that are advertising that they will make your hair curly......read more carefully. They can add volume but only a perm can break down the dissulfide bonds in the hair and make them adhere to the shape of the rod.If you want to try the curling iron again, spray hairspray on each section right before you curl it. They hairspray will make it crunch rather than frizzy. After curling all the sections, use your fingers to seperate the curls and soften them but do NOT brush it afterwards. If your hair is long enough, you could also try scrunching it while you are drying it: Put gel inwet hair. While blowing dry on LOW use your hands to grab the hair in handfulls and squeeze it towards your scalp.Or try the diffuser attachment that pushes the hair towards the scalp. I would recommend a very very loose perm.

Curl a guy's very straight hair, or make it wavy...?

Scrunch it for the day... that or get a perm and then your hair will never be straight again. Which ain't so exciting! Trust me... I had about three of them. It sucks.

Shampoo and condioner that suits my hair..?

hi,

my hair is black, long, thin and straight.but the problem is that it became frizzy, rough and had split ends.every time when i comb my hair it breaks,i wanted to get rid of that split ends and had silky and shiny looks.i love to open my hair if the problem solved.my hair is oily.

i want mirror shine .

can you tell me which shampoo and conditioner works for me or any other hair care products.

Shampoo and condioner that suits my hair..?

The only way to get rid of split ends is cutting it. You should cut it about every 6 to 8 eight weeks. As for the rest of your problem, don't wash your hair every day. I know that you say that your hair is oily but it could be because you are washing your hair too much. Try to go a day without washing your hair when you will be home for a while. The oil your hair creates is the best conditioner for your hair. Your oil glands are working overtime because you are washing your hair too much and it is trying to replenish it. Try brushing the oils through your hair. Don't brush your hair when it is wet, use a comb. Brushing when wet stretches your hair and can cause it to break off. For the shiny look, if you can go to a hairdresser, ask he/she to put a clear cellophane in your hair. It works just like hair dye but has no color in it. It will give you that nice shine that you are looking for. Use a shampoo and conditioner that is for your hair type, dry/damaged, color or chemical treated, normal, etc. Personally, I use Sebastian for color treated hair. My hair is long dark brown and thin too. My hair is usually frizzy the day I wash it, but the next day looks fine. Good luck, hope this helps!!

Shampoo and condioner that suits my hair..?

there is no shampoo and conditioner that will repair already exsisting split ends. They need to be cut off. You need to have regular trims on your split ends, about every 6 weeks, especially since your hair is already fragile, and use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, your stylist will be able to make an exact reccomendation for your hair, as that is impossible to do without actually seeing and feeling the hair.

Shampoo and condioner that suits my hair..?

Are you trimming your ends every 6-8 weeks that will help with the split ends! There is a shampoos by ISO it's a moisturizing shampoo that will help it's called Hydra cleanse it is only sold at a beauty supply store.. Also you should get a serum that will help with shine and split ends there is one by Bain de Terre also sold in beauty supply store that is for split ends and shine.. But there are allot of other ones out there... Paul Mitchell makes a good one that is for shine and it smells sooo good like apples!! Hope this helps!

Shampoo and condioner that suits my hair..?

Trim your hair! Also, use Pantene Ice Shine Brand, Or Garnier Fructis! They work for me! LOL! Your hair sounds lovely, the color anyway!

Hair Problems!?

I have VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY THIN HAIR!! Okay imagine a girl who has normal curly hair in a pinytail. I seriously have only TWO normal curls in my ponytail! That's all my hair!! My sister also has thin hair too. We don't know where we get it from. My dad is fully black and black people have thick hair and my mom is fully white but has normal hair. You know..not too thick not too thin. Is there any hair care products that make my hair grow thicker? Seriously, I have worn my hair in a ponytail EVERYDAY since kindergarten!! And I'm in 6th grade! Ivery badly want side bangs and to wear my hair down. But it looks weird because it's too thin.. :(

Hair Problems!?

Thin hair is generally genetic, but I guess there could be foods that you could eat to try to thicken your hair. Also try brushing it alot, it won't make it thicker, but it will stimulate growth, so that even if it's thin, if you have a lot of it, then , no big deal, right? But thin hair is fine, I have thin hair, and its fine, I wear it down, and it's fine. Curly fine hair looks thicker than straight fine hair, which I guess is why my hair doesn't look too thin, cos it's kinda got a weird natural wavey-ness to it

Hair Problems!?

try volumizing shampoo... and you arent old enough to be on y!a if your only in 6th grade

Hair Problems!?

Hair is made from protein, so try eating protein rich food like eggs, fish and reduce the stress in your daily life. More tips at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/growhair.htm...

Hair Problems!?

I would try a thickening shampoo or shampoo for thinning hair. There is a great one made by Nioxin. Also, if you wear your hair short it makes it look fuller. If you wear it long it will probably look stringy and not too cute. Also, I dont understnd if you have curly hair or not, but if you dont, maybe you should get a perm with big perm rods. Like 1 1/4" ones. Hope this helps!

Hair Problems!?

You have a certain number of hair folicles alloted to your head. So far there has been no luck creating new. The only ans for some is transplanted hair but you need thick hair in back to do that. There are volumizing shampoos and also some gels that will help. A very short perky look may give your hair strength and help it look fuller too. If you have permission maybe you get get your parents to take you to a salon and get it styled. This way you will look your best.

Hair Problems!?

When I was young my hair was super thin as well, so i know what you are talking about. What my parens decided to do was to....are you ready? They shaved ALL of my hair. Yes, I was bald! BUT...it did grow thicker than what it was. So I know that's not one of your options. Plus my parent's did that when i was in elementary (very harsh). Anyways, I'm older now and still think my hair is thin, so i decided to take some pills recommended by my hair stylist. They are called "Nioxin: Intensive Theraphy Recharging Complex" and I have noticed results. Also use a volumizing shampoo and make sure to always use conditioner. =) GOOD LUCK!

Mixed curly hair more on the african side. It is extremely dry because of me lightening it some many

I have mixed naturally curly hair. Before, I dyed my hair I used to have silky soft curls/hair. My hair is now extremely dry, course and kinky because of lightening/dying my hair alot within the last 6 months. I like to wear my hair out and curly. Are there any hair care products for my hair types where I can get it back healthy and conditioned/mosturized. I don't want anything expensive or from online. I have to wash it everyday so my hair can look good but I know that it is drying it out. Is there anything specifically for curly ethnic mixed hair that is alcohol free which will also enhance my curls instead of making it more dry? I have already tried Patene relaxed and natuaral and that does nothing but dry my hair out. Has anyone been in the same boat as me and how long did it take for your hair to go back to the way it used to be,nice, curly, silky soft manageable hair. Are there any suggestions? Thanks

Mixed curly hair more on the african side. It is extremely dry because of me lightening it some many times;-(?

Yes. A simple yet healthy thing to try is a warm olive oil soak. You heat up some olive oil; being very careful not to let it get too hot (if you do, make sure you wait until it is just warm to the touch). Take some cotton and dab it on your scalp and the rest comb through your air. This may take a few times; such as one time per week. You apply it to dry hair, not hair that has been shampooed. Pin it up and watch a favourite television program, or read a good book. Leave it on for about one hour; or even over night if you can wrap it in a plastic cap. Then shampoo out in the morning or after the hour is up. Just one lather is all you need. You can apply a regular cream rinse or conditioner after as well. Then style as usual.

After a month of this, you will notice a good deal of difference in how your hair behaves and looks.

Mixed curly hair more on the african side. It is extremely dry because of me lightening it some many times;-(?

You should use a natural product made from naturally occuring ingredients such as Herbal Essences Moisture Balancing Shampoo. Another great moisturising shampoo is V05's one. Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Moisturising Shampoo would work for your hair since you say it's damaged. These are all fairly cheap and don't need to be bought online.

Mixed curly hair more on the african side. It is extremely dry because of me lightening it some many times;-(?

I feel you I have the same type of hair. I wash it everyday, but not with shampoo. I think you should do the same. Rinse the products out of your hair with straight up water and no shampoo. Then put in a good conditioner and leave it in for about 5-10 minutes, then rinse it out with warm water and rinse it with cool/cold water to make it shine.

I was in the same situation. I highlighted then dyed my hair and I had to cut about 5"-6" off my hair because of how dry it was. I cut my hair about 3-4 months ago. Right now it's about 2" past my shoulders, and it's very soft but still kind of frizzy. It's getting better though.

Hair colour keeps washing out?

For hair colouring experts out there: any idea how long before permanent hair colour should should stop washing out with every wash? It's been about two weeks, and the water still runs with colour when I wash my hair. (I do use shampoo+conditioned for colour treated hair) I've used hair colouring products several times, I've tried Garnier and L'Oreal (colours: blueberry black, intense auburn, ultraviolet brown) and each time, the colours wash out quite quickly. I do follow the colouring instructions (not washing hair beforehand, using approperiate hair care products afterwards). Any ideas what the problem is? The hair colour just does not seem to stick to my hair well (my hair is naturally light brown). Thanks!

Hair colour keeps washing out?

Intense colors fade very quickly even when you are using all the right products. I have had good luck with using a matching semi-permanent color the same day that I have applied the permanent color. My hair is naturally very porous and color tends to fade quickly, the semi-permanent seems to help lock it all in and gives my hair a lot of shine. It usually takes a good 10 to 15 minutes of rinsing the initial color application out for me to not have color constantly running in my rinse water everytime I shampoo. If I'm pressed for time and don't rinse for that long I end up with the same color running issue as you have, for weeks on end.

Hair colour keeps washing out?

If your hair is very damaged it could be why your color is not staying put.

You could try a product called Revlon Colorist Expert Color and Glaze System. It comes with a tube of conditioning creme with color in it, so that each time you use it you get a new dose of color, without the damaging effects.

Hope this helps!

I have long,thick, brown hair?

It is maybe 2-4 inches past my shoulders. I straighten my hair all of the time. What are the best hair care products I should use? Such as shampoo or conditioner. Should I use heat protector for my hair? If so what kind?

Plz I need help!!! (Any kinds of styles for my hair would be a big help also!)

I have long,thick, brown hair?

Try a hot oil treatment every now and then. Yes, if you can use a heat protectant for your hair (just go to CVS and pick out a major brand name) THe major brand names have the most money to spend on research and such so they usually have pretty good stuff. I have hair like yours.....I just use suave professionals and they work great. Go and google virtual hair styles and upload a picture of yourself. You can put different hairstyles on and try them out before you do it. Your haircut should be decided based on the shape of your face. If you have an oval face you can get away with just about anything except for really really long hair. Good luck!

I have long,thick, brown hair?

just use a good conditioner......that what i do.

I have long,thick, brown hair?

I reccomend you to use Biosilk. It's a very good line of products that adds shine and moisture. An investment in the shampoo, the conditioner, and the smoothing serum would be a good idea. Even just getting the serum and applying it before straightening would make a positive difference in your hair.

I have long,thick, brown hair?

You're like me excpet my hair is shorter but it is thick. I recommend Tressem茅. They hair products are really nice and have al sorts of ranges - such as volume, died hair care etc. I would opt for a normal version of Tressem茅. Also smother all of your hair with conditioner and it will become sleek and smooth!! Also if you hair gets incredibly knotty try the mason pearson hair brushes as they don't hurt and they take out knots really easily. As for hairstyles hairbands in white, red, black or navy with bows or little details are really nice with your hair out. A high ponytail or take two segmants of your hair from the front and take it to the back and tie it or clip it with a cute clip!

Hope I Helped!!

I have long,thick, brown hair?

There are special products now that you can buy to use when using hair straighteners, they also protect the hair. As well as that you should use a good conditioner, there are so many in the shops to choose from.

Also if your really keem try putting olive oil on your hair say once every 2-3 weeks, beware don't use too much and be prepared to have to wash it out for 20 minutes or so, I know this really softens hair and puts back the moisture, it may sound like an old wives tale but it does work.

I have long,thick, brown hair?

well i do find that herbal essance does great for my hair and do u use hair staitening protection spray for your hair. it shines your hair and makes it smooth with some volume to it. you,ll realy luv your hair if you use it. um and also make sure u dont straighten your hair wen its wet from water...

jayy!

I have long,thick, brown hair?

I have straightened my hair too - be careful because it can get very brittle, and start breaking unevenly, and then you look like a mangy poodle.

Use a ceramic straightener, a relaxer shampoo, some stuff called Frizz Ease, but don't make your hair too clean, it needs some essential oil to keep it from drying out.

There are shampoo and conditioner from Herbal Essences for straightened hair, one I think is called Dangerously Straight

Why does my hair turns curly only when i was 13?

my hair was straight n soft.

now, it is frizzy, really curly, thick n coarse.

i have a balanced diet, exercise well n use hair care products that suit my hair type.

i m not on any medications.

why the sudden change?

Why does my hair turns curly only when i was 13?

At this age, keratin bonds in the hair become developed at which time your hair will become curly if that is what you were predisposed to have. If baby pics show that you had some curl in your hair, this was a clue. Puberty coincides with the completion of keratin development.

There are styling products that will help you maintain your hair as well as tools such as a straightening iron.

Best of luck! :)

Why does my hair turns curly only when i was 13?

If you cut your hair recently that will do it. If you are mixed that will have an effect on your hair too. When I was thirteen I cut my hair for the first time but I am mixed with black and white and my hair was long so straight and really thick after I cut it, it was such a dramatic change because all of a sudden it was so curly and unruley. What happens is the hair weighs down the curls so you have straight hair and then when you cut it, all the weight is gone so the curls can curl up and become what they want. Its crazy but just get some frizz ezze shampoo and conditioner and the leave in condition and that will help a whole lot. Good luck!

I'm looking for a product line of hair care that will make my hair silky and straight....?

I'm a white girl with shoulder length hair. My hair is very thick and it is a little frizzy and bushy. It has some natural wave in it which is a thorn in my side because I want it to be frizz free and straight without having to take a straight iron to it. I wish there was a shampoo and conditioner that actually did what it says it does. I was thinking about getting the Frizz-ease product line when I went to the store tonight. Does anyone have any experience with it and does it work well? I have a baby and don't have lots of time to mess with my hair. I have so much hair, it would take FOREVER to take a straight iron to it every day. Is there anything that might work on my hair?

I'm looking for a product line of hair care that will make my hair silky and straight....?

The BEST product can't be found in a store. It is natural rain water!! My grandmother use to have a barrel she would catch the rain in. It had a screen on top to catch debris. Just keep a container(like a gallon bottle) in your bathroom(or where ever you wash your hair) and make the final rinse using rain water. It has no chemicals(ok, I know about the chemicals in the air) and costs nothing!

I'm looking for a product line of hair care that will make my hair silky and straight....?

For dry hair pls try these hot oil massages....they will help in maintaing the natural sheen of your hair and will also condition your hair:

Hot oil massages: Warm 2 tsp. of olive oil and 2 tsp. coconut oil and gently massage every part of the scalp for 10-15 minutes. Rinse a towel in hot water, wipe and wind the hair around the head as it cools. Repeat 2 or 3 times to issue total saturation. After that, shampoo and rinse well. It is good for brittle dry hair.

Hot Caster oil massage: Warm 闄?cup of castor oil, massage into scalp and gently comb it. Bind the hair with hot towel on the head, wait for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. As it is home made is so good to use for scanty hair.

Clove oil honey massage. Stir well 闄?cup of green olive oil with 1 cup of liquid honey. Shake vigorously. Keep the mixture to settle for a day or two. Massage into the scalp and comb it not touching the scalp. After massaging cover hair with plastic shower cap. Make it air tight to let the heat penetrate, leave like that for 20 to 30 minutes. Then shampoo and rinse well. It is good for dark hair to keep it shining and lustrous.

Asian hair care?

Does anyone have any hair product advice for someone with Asian hair?

My scalp is slightly oily. The area closest to my roots is a little poofy and has random little pieces sticking out. The rest of my hair is long, thick and straight...Sometimes there are "flyaways" from static and the dry air here. I do blow-dry it a few times a week, but I always use a diffuser and never blow-dry it 100%, so it's not "ovedry." Moisturizing shampoos/conditioners and frizz serums seem to actually make my hair worse...

Any help?

My hair is FRIIIIIEEEDDD due to color correction. how can i replenish it?

I normally have soft, silky hair. I recently dyed it and it came out waaaayyy too dark and i went to a salon for them to fix it.. They ended up bleaching it then coloring it again to my natural color but now it feels like hay and is really thick, but not in a good way.. Any hair care products or quick fixes to replenish it?

My hair is FRIIIIIEEEDDD due to color correction. how can i replenish it?

Get to an Aveda salon. I've been going since college and love it! They have a service called "Damage remedy". You can also buy the shampoo conditioner and super conditioner to follow it up at home. My hair was so silky afterwards and I've had many a color-me-happy-at-home disaster.

My hair is FRIIIIIEEEDDD due to color correction. how can i replenish it?

best thing i've found to deal with that is Queen Helene's Cholesterol conditioning cream. it's inexpesive too.

I slather it on towel dried hair, wrap it with a plastic bag and place a towel over that for a few hours, then rinse it away.

My hair is FRIIIIIEEEDDD due to color correction. how can i replenish it?

warm some olive oil and let it sit on your hair, then wash it with a mild shampoo

My hair is FRIIIIIEEEDDD due to color correction. how can i replenish it?

First off, don't use bleach to remove color. There are great products out there specifically for color removal. If you are trying to correct more than 2 levels, make sure to find a salon that uses color remover. To fix your hair, first go to your local sally beauty supply, buy a tub of hair masque by Beyond Zone. Go home, slather a ton on your hair, put on a shower cap, and go to bed. When you get up, shower and wash as normal. Do this for 5 -7 days. This will help a ton. Next, you need to get good product for your hair. I am a hairstylist, and I love a product called Bracoto cloud 9 miracle hair repair. They have a shampoo, conditioner, and styling products. You can find liter's of the shampoo/conditioner for about $25 for both. Use this daily, and immediatly you will notice a difference. Within a few weeks, you will wonder why everybody doesn't know about this product. Hope this helps.

My hair is FRIIIIIEEEDDD due to color correction. how can i replenish it?

first and foremost you have to fix the inside of your hair shaft. That's where you get your strength to prevent breakage. But I'm a sucker for soft hair too so I would get Redkens Extreme rescue force and mix w/ the All Soft (redken too) heavy cream. Do that once to twice a week until it starts feeling normal again. You can also use a smoothing serum before you blow dry to help w/ the cosmetic feel too. I personally love Biosilk's Silk therapy. And Trim every 6 weeks to get that dry stuff grown out. You can just trim a 1/2 in. to an in. So you don't have to go extreme, but it will definatly help. I'm a redken specialist and this was something they went over in some classes I just took.

Dreadlock care?

does anybody know of any hair care products i can use to take care of my dreads in between visits?

Dreadlock care?

Not really. Ask the person who does your dreads. They should be able to advise you.

Dreadlock care?

Improper dreadlock maintenance can lead to dreads that pop off at the slightest sign of stress - as little as running your fingers through your hair. Worse yet, an irregular hair care routine or following the wrong routine can result in dull-looking dreads or lead to scalp problems like excessive dandruff.

Which leads to another issue; not only is your hair in need of care, but your scalp needs attention too.

Five Steps to Fab Hair

Now that we know how important the proper dreadlock maintenance routine is to your hair, let's look at the simple steps that you can take today to allow your locks to reach their full potential.

* Wash: Use a residue-free product to clean your locks. The frequency with which you wash your locks will depend on your lifestyle. If you're more active than most, then you'll need to consider washing your hair more often to reduce the build-up that sweat can produce on your scalp. If you're less active, your dreadlock maintenance routine shouldn't have to include washing your hair more than weekly.

* Tone: This is an often skipped part of everyone's hair care routine, whether we're talking about dreadlock maintenance or any another hair style. Unfortunate to say the least, because toning (or gently messaging your scalp) for a few minutes not only feels great but helps release natural oils from your sebaceous glands.

* Condition: Much debated in the dreadlocks community, conditioning your hair restores your locks from the root and can correct surface damage. If you are really worried about conditioner prolonging the locking process or undoing your locks, then only use it on tips.

* Groom: There are a few ways to groom your locks in order to promote the locking process with the hair closest to the roots. You can latch-hook, palm roll or root rub. Or you can let nature take its course and use the freeform technique.

* Style: This is the part that everyone loves about dreads. The hair style is so full of character that they look great even when you do nothing.

Good luck!!! *LO

Dreadlock care?

Here's a clear basic care list, much more concise than my first one. I'm assuming your "dreds" are natural, as mine were.

1) Wash scalp once a week.

2) Follow washing with Redken Extreme CAT to minimize breakage if you have a problem with that.

3) Possibly use a very light spray conditioner, but only if absolutely needed.

4) Use a dreadlock wax once or twice a week, palm-rolling each dred and paying attention to lock in the roots. Only wax absolutely dry hair! I used to ball up the ends too between my palms for a nice coifed effect.

5) ALWAYS wear a head wrap or night cap to sleep in to avoid fuzzies.

6) When things really start to look bad, see a professional to tighten things back up.

My hair is EXTREMELY frizzy and dry. After years of blow drowing it straight it is horrible.?

How can I get it to just behave? If it dries naturally it is curly, if I brush it it puffs out to like 1 foot wide! I have tried leave in conditioners, hot oil, just combing it when it is wet, but it never stays looking half way decent like when it is wet. I don't believe many hair care products because they show you some chic who has straight hair that they have teased out to no end and then claim it went from frizzy to fabulous. They need real people with real hair problems on those commercials! lol Anyway any advice will be helpful. Thanks

My hair is EXTREMELY frizzy and dry. After years of blow drowing it straight it is horrible.?

You can end all your hair worries with a nice Buzz Cut!

My hair is EXTREMELY frizzy and dry. After years of blow drowing it straight it is horrible.?

More than likely the best thing you can do is go to a stylist and see if they have any suggestions for you. A stylist can do a conditioning treatment that might help a little but more than likely you will have to have it cut and start over. A lot of hair damage is unrepairable. Good luck.

My hair is EXTREMELY frizzy and dry. After years of blow drowing it straight it is horrible.?

well, have you tried flat ironing it? that might help

My hair is EXTREMELY frizzy and dry. After years of blow drowing it straight it is horrible.?

You should get a nice hair cut, then start over new and use shampoo and conditioner that helps you rehrydrate your hair, and keep it from drying, you can get leave in treatment that helps your hair to. I have this stuff you put in that protects it. And if I were you id try to keep from dying it and using alot of heat.

My hair is EXTREMELY frizzy and dry. After years of blow drowing it straight it is horrible.?

I love the Sleek and Shine products. I have the same problem, but if you use the serum before you blow dry, your hair will look amazing. I never used to blow dry my hair, just because it made my hair look really frizzy, but after I started to use this stuff, my hair looks great. When blow drying, don't use a FINE bristled brush, or one that has the bristles close together. Find one that is vented, so the air can go through the brush, and it will dry your hair more evenly. It's worth a fairly inexpensive try.

My hair is EXTREMELY frizzy and dry. After years of blow drowing it straight it is horrible.?

try using the mousse by Frizz-ease when its wet and blow drying it on low with a diffuser....that works for me! And I only have to dry it for a few minutes on low so it does much less damage. thats just if you want it curly, though. If you constantly straighten your hair, it will never get any healthier...you need to give it a break.

My hair is EXTREMELY frizzy and dry. After years of blow drowing it straight it is horrible.?

Try using Silk Repair Shampoo, Condition and lave in Conditioner they worked for me and now my hair is super shiny and super healthy..they are a bit expensive but trust me it is sooooo worth it.

Using "Castor Oil" on hair is good? or bad?

I know this might sound bit weird to all of you, but i want to know using "Castor Oil" to comb the hair and get that mafia look is bad for hair or not? because one of my friends told me that Castor Oil can make hair to prematurely turn gray. is there any truth behind this?, I am using "Castor Oil" because i am very sensitive to hair gels and most hair care products do give me really bad headaches, Castor oil easily does not dry up as other things and it stays the way i like to but i am bothered about my friends comment.

Using "Castor Oil" on hair is good? or bad?

Hi. Don''t worry yourself over this one. The only way your hair is going to turn gray is to do it naturally or if you colored it with a chemical and it ended up looking gray. This is obviously a myth..or perhaps the friend that told you this has tried it and the color of their hair and the combination of the oil might have made their hair look grayish or something. But it's nothing a little bit of shampoo won't take care of. Now it is possible for the oil to cause a build up on the hair and when you get a build up it can tend to have a gray look. If you use it regularly, I would suggest a weekly clarifying shampoo. You can find clarifying shampoos anywhere shampoo is sold. They are safe to use everyday unless you have extremely dry hair..which I doubt is true with you since you are using this oil on your hair. I have blonde hair and some of the products that I have used have caused a buildup on my hair and it has caused it to have a grayish tint. When this happens I usually use a clarifying shampoo to help remove the build-up..and if it's really bad, I mix a little baking soda in with the shampoo to make it like a paste and shampoo my hair with it, leave it on for a couple of minutes then rinse thouroughly. This will remove any buildup..and I would imagine that castor oil would probably cause a buildup after continous use. Hope this helps you with your question..and don't worry..you are not going to go gray by using castor oil!

Using "Castor Oil" on hair is good? or bad?

I see no reason why it would turn ur hair grey..???

this has to be a myth.. or he was just yanking ur chain.... so to speak..

Oil of any kind is good.. oops motor oil.. is a bit too much..

I would say everything is fine..

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

I came across two different hair care products that work really good with dry/damaged hair and my hair is really damaged I've bleached it 4 times in a row then decided to die it back to its original color and now my hair is really long and dry with all kinds of split ends and breakage and its way to light I want it to be heavier so I was wondering what you think will be the best for my hair between:

Biolustre Rescue EMS Instant Repair

or

Phyto

What do you think....

or

Do you have any ideas??

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

There is a product I use by VO5 that comes in individual packets - you buy 3 in a package. I'm not at home right now so I'm not positive of the name, but it's called 'Deep Conditioning Cream' or Mask. Anyway ,there is only the one type. It's a really thick orange colored conditioner and works extremely well. I have extra curly hair and I use this at least once a month because it works great.

My sister had a problem after dying her hair once and I gave her some of this stuff and now she uses it all the time too.

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

you need to cut your hair, and start using "silk" you can find it in any professional hair store. I had to learn the hard way....

cutting it will make it healthy, and the "silk" will make it soo soft, and protect it from further damage, so it can grow back nicely.

p.s. my moms a hairdresser....thats EXACTLY what I had to do

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

I've never heard of either product you listed but I have a few ideas for you.

Try a deep conditioning treatment. The best ones are sold at professional supply stores but if you don't know someone with a cosmetology licsense this won't help you. You can also buy them at Sally's and some drug stores.

After you wash your hair put the treatment all over and then wrap your hair tightly in a damp towel. If you have a hooded dryer it works best to sit under it for an hour otherwise you can hold a blow dryer to it for an hour. Kind of a pain in the *** I know.

Do you have straight hair? A flat iron is the best way to reduce frizz, although the heat can sometimes damage your hair also.

A good line to try a damage fixing conditioner is Back to Basics, or Biolage. I hope this helps. My mom owns a hair salon, so I've tried a lot of products.

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

Cholesterol Treament.

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

start off with cutting off the split ends..

then i would go to a salon and ask a stylist what you should do..

they always have really great advice!

also if you use heat on your hair a lot.. be sure to use heat protectant! (:

good luck

Which product for severe dry/damaged hair is better??

Aloe Vera,is a good remedy for dry hair. It is obtained from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant. Break the leaf and squeeze out the liquid inside, apply this liquid to your scalp, keep for about an hour and wash it off . Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Hair care tips:

Apply little or no heat to your hair

wash and condition it your hair once or twice a week

don't brush you hair, use a wide tooth comb

If your hair is tangled, use detangler

wrap your hair up at night with a silk scarf

relax your hair every 6-8 weeks (if you get perms)

MOST IMPORTANTLY! Get you ends clipped every 4-6 weeks or as often your beautician tells you.

No ponytails! They do not grow your hair, it breaks off your edges, and split your ends. If your going to wear ponytails please don't wear them often.

Can someone give me hair care tips for african-american hair?

I try to get a perm every 6 weeks. I also wrap my hair at night to keep it from rubbing out. I keep my hair in a ponytail now so that it can grow out. Having your hair in braids also helps it to grow. Use a perm with no lye in it and also follow the directions carefully. Go to a salon and get your hair did=) and ask the beautician what is the best way to maintain good healthy hair ( i would go to a black beautician) Also eating healthy helps your hair. And grease that scalp to stop itching. I use African Pride perms and Panteen Pro V shampoo's and conditioners ( the ones in the brown bottles) When shampoo bottles say 'normal hair' up there they are not referring to black people. Use something that has a detangler in it.

Can someone give me hair care tips for african-american hair?

It's a simple ingredient thing. STAY AWAY from products with mineral oil in it! It will cause your hair to break! Try to stay away from chemically treating your hair too if your hair is prone to breakage.

Try using Redkens products and BioSilk products! Typically these products are generated for caucasians, they are excellent on african american hair. :] Keep your hair moisturized with deep and leave in conditioners as well.

Feel free to email me if you have anymore questions! It took me YEARS to learn what works best with my hair, but I finally figured it out! Good luck! :]

Can someone give me hair care tips for african-american hair?

If you want your hair to grow you have to have a healthy scalp. Everything you put in your body affects what you look like on the outside. Add a women's multi-vitamin to your diet. I'm black and I've had hair halfway down my back, and I've also had hair 2 inches long. For the hair you already have on your head- use a leave-in conditioner, heat protecting products like thermasilk or biosilk, wash your hair everyother day to protect hair's natural oils, and always air dry or use a diffuser. Good luck, and love yourself no matter what your hair looks like!
